On March 8, 2024 the inaugural edition of the National Creators Award ceremony was held at Bharat Mandapam, a convention centre in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi awarded the winners of the new award programme, which was launched by the Indian government to recognize and empower digital creators who are making a positive impact.
This year’s awards received a staggering 1.5 lakh nominations across 20 categories, with over 10 lakh votes cast during the selection process. After much deliberation, 23 winners were chosen, including three international creators.
The awards recognized a diverse range of creators, from Best Storyteller to Green Champion, highlighting the vast influence digital creators have on various aspects of Indian life.

Selection Process of National Creator Award 2024 :
The selection process for the National Creators Award 2024 involved a combination of public participation and expert evaluation:
Self-Nomination: Creators submitted applications on the Innovate India website during a nomination window (February 10th – 29th, 2024) [National Creators Award 2024 – Innovate India]. They could nominate themselves in up to three categories, providing links to their content and explaining its impact.
Criteria-Based Evaluation: A panel of experts from government, academia, media, and civil society reviewed the final nominations for this award. Judgement of the content was based on creativity, impact, reach, innovation, sustainability, and how well it aligned with the award’s goals..
Public Voting: Public votes also played a role in selecting the winners. The weightage of public votes combined with the jury’s evaluation determined the final awardees in each category.
