The demand for the Mithila state even before independence is very old. In 1912, when Bihar came out of the Bengal province, it became a separate state. From that time the demand for a separate Mithila state started.
Why people are demanding for separate state(Mithila Rajya) ?
Some points :
- Demand is from ancient times.
- Government of Bihar always ignored North bihar (Mithila region).
- Every year people suffered with flood.À huge loss to money and life.But governement did not take any action.
- Government Don’t allocate fund to Mithila region else they divert that fund to other district.
- Bihar governement did not focus on Mithila region at all.
- Centre governement always tries to help Mithila region but state governement use that fund on other region.Even state governement opposes AIIMS in Mithila and requested Centre to transfer it to Other district.
- And main point is whenever anyone talk about Bihar people remember Bhojpuri and its accent.But that is not right We have our separate culture and Language. That is Maithli.We don’t speak bhojpuri.(Guys Who think all bihari speak hindi with bhojpuri accent that’s wrong) We don’t want to be seen as bhojpuri speaker anymore.We have our own culture.
- Mithila was the golden City Mithila was among first region which have own Railways, Industry, Power plant when our King ruled.But when mithila is demolished in Bihar everything was demolished and today there is no industry in Mithila region people suffer àlot.
- Governement took everything from King.
- Hc verma, Manas bihari verma, And many great scholar are from Mithila region but due to lac of Infrastructure, college no such brillant are produce now or they move to other state for higher Education.
- Any trace of industry was systematically destroyed in Mithila and the government does not allow any new industry to be started. Corruption is rampant.
