What is Agneepath Scheme?

Under this scheme, soldiers in the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force will be recruited for 4 years, which will be named Agniveer.The recruitment of soldiers in the army, sailors in the navy and airmen in the air force will now be done under this scheme only.After 4 years of appointment, 75 percent of the soldiers will be sent home and the remaining 25 percent of the Agniveers will be appointed as permanent soldiers.

Who will be recruited under Agneepath scheme?

Agneepath scheme is only for jawans and this scheme will not be applicable to officers. This scheme is for the personnel below the rank of Service Officer.The current recruitment process of soldiers in the Army, Navy and Airforce will not change.That is, the selection of Agniveers will be done only through the existing selection process.

What will be the salary of Agniveers?

Agniveer will be given Rs.30,000 months salary in the first year of recruitment. It will increase to Rs.33,000 in the second year, Rs.36.5 thousand in the third year and Rs.40,000 in the fourth year.
Every time 30-30 percent will also be deducted for retirement package from Agniveer’s salary. Like if 30 thousand rupees are to be received in the first year, then only 21 thousand rupees will be given to them.The remaining 30 percent i.e. 9 thousand rupees will be deposited in Agniveer Corps Fund. The government will also put the same amount (9 thousand rupees) in this fund on its behalf.

• Candidates must have passed class 10th and 12th examination from a recognized board.
• Minimum Age : 17.5 Years
• Maximum Age : 23 Years
